The architecture of deliberate reading.
Zoraqz is not another digital library. We are a Seoul-based literary initiative dedicated to the recovery of focus, the discipline of slow reading, and the preservation of complex discourse in an age of fragmented attention.
From Seocho-gu to a Global Network
Zoraqz Book Club began as a private collective in Seocho-gu, Seoul. Founded by a group of editors and literary theorists, the platform was born from a simple observation: the "infinite scroll" had fundamentally damaged our ability to sit with a single text for more than a few minutes.
Our founders—coming from backgrounds in comparative literature and digital curation—sought to merge the high-touch experience of a physical salon with the logistical elegance of a premium digital platform. We moved from a local reading room to a curated online space in early 2025, ensuring that distance would no longer be a barrier to rigorous literary discussion.

The Zoraqz Method
The Primacy of the Text
We do not summarize. We do not provide "key takeaways." Our methodology requires full immersion in the original work. Our reading guides are designed to expand context, not replace the experience of the prose.
Curation as Criticism
Every selection undergoes a three-stage editorial review. We analyze cultural resonance, aesthetic longevity, and the potential for polarized, meaningful discussion. We choose what is necessary, not what is trending.
Structured Discourse
Discussions are moderated by subject matter experts. This ensures that every conversation remains analytical, respectful, and moves beyond surface-level reaction toward genuine synthesis.
Our Editorial Standard
"We believe reading is a performative act. The quality of the reader’s attention determines the quality of the book's afterlife."
At Zoraqz, our editorial scene is governed by a commitment to the 'slow reading' movement. This isn't just about speed; it's about the depth of processing. Our curated experiences include:
- Bi-monthly symposiums hosted via encrypted, high-fidelity video rooms.
- Direct access to translation notes for non-English works.
Direct Communication
Based in the literary heart of Seoul, our editorial desk is open for inquiries regarding institutional memberships and scholarly partnerships.
